Practicum Program
We have developed an Internship Program for your graduate-level counselling degree.
Our program has been carefully and thoughtfully curated to meet the supervision requirements for the University of New Brunswick’s M.Ed and Yorkville University’s MACP programs. We not only want you to learn the basic skills for being a counselling therapist, but also to feel confident and competent in your new role when you graduate.
If you are interested in being considered, please submit a copy of your resume.
*May 2026 internship students have been selected.
*Our next availability will be for January 2027.
LCT-C Supervision
As required by The College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB). Each new counselling therapist is required to complete 50 hours of post-graduate supervision in order to maintain their license.
01
Monthly Supervision
Provided every 2-5 weeks in accordance with CCTNB’s Supervision Rules. Each supervisee will either complete their supervision hours individually or be paired within a dyad for extra collaboration. The supervisee must complete their required 50 supervision hours within 2-5 years following graduation.
02
Session Review
We will review tapes from your sessions together to provide support following graduation and to ensure you are continuing to increase in skills and maintaining ethical practice. Tapes are always held with the utmost of respect for both the client and therapist and are viewed with compassion for educational purposes.
03
Ethical Discussion and Topic Presentation
We will take time in each supervision meeting to review sections from the CCPA’s Code of Ethics or Standards of Practice in order to develop strong ethical understanding and intuition. We will also take time to increase understanding of various modalities and therapeutic topics that will inform your counselling practice. We also prioritize time for questions and case consultation.
